Born 1993 at the Symbio Wildlife Park, Helensburgh, Oola, came to us as an unwanted three month old pup. She had originally been purchased by a family who were apparently unprepared to take on such a highly agile and lively breed. She was passed onto a young mother and her son who loved her but treated her as a baby. Oola responded marvellously to this, and adored sharing her owner's bed, and leaping all over the furniture. But the child became jealous.
Once again Oola was to lose her home through no real fault of her own. She was just simply a normal Dingo pup - terribly demanding, terribly destructive, and impossible to keep in without excellent fences. Our Society was contacted and Oola and her humans visited us. We were impressed. She was so quiet, well mannered and adored her humans.
It took many weeks for Oola to recover from the loss of her loved ones. Her attention was constantly rivetted to the road, awaiting their return.
Oola loves to be with people and is being prepared to represent the Society at public functions. She is particularly gentle with little children.
Oola's colour is white. This is rare in the wild, but quite common in domestic bred Dingoes due to specialised breeding to develop the 'rare' colour by zoologists, particularly David Fleay.
Oola's companions have been Jarrah and Sheila. This breeding season, she took up residence with Echo, however.
She is quite good round the house, so long as all shoes and hoses have been removed. If there is washing on the line, she never touches it; that is, until about 4pm when if it has not been taken in, she invariably does it for us!
